This is it

The first day of the year, and how can it be a quarter of a century since January 1st 2000 , when we marked the start of the new millennium at a friend’s party ?
Not too bright a start, Mr. Beewatcher wanted to see the town football team play an important match at home, but decided sitting in the cold and damp might not be good for his rapidly-developing cough. Miss Beewatcher made the effort, only to be greeted with the news that the ground had been declared too waterlogged for the match to take place safely - twenty minutes before it was due to kick off.
Add in the last minute weather warning for snow in the local area from tomorrow,  and I’ve had better starts to a year.
January 1st 2020 was pretty good, but I seem to remember the year went downhill a lot after that.
So for now I’m just pottering on my iPad with its wallpaper that I took many years ago.
