Happy New year !

we went out for dinner this evening at a traditional Catalan restaurant in the old village of Canet.  Afterwards we walked to the coast (about 40 mins away) to watch the fireworks. Luckily it was good weather and after eating far too much (the cafe gourmand consisted of 5 deserts rather than the normal 3) I was in need of the walk.  The fireworks here finish at midnight rather than start then hence I can blip them for the 31st! It was a grand display and I was torn between blipping the finale (a huge mass of fireworks) or some of the earlier displays that looked like some new palm trees had sprouted up on the beach! (see extra) .
