The day started quite well with some weak sunshine and as I was walking round to the from gate I saw several welcome signs of the future Spring- these new shoots on one of the clematis were probably the most prolific.
Once I’d answered dome messages, tidied up etc I decided to drive to a shopping centre on the other side of town to have a look at a dining table I’d seen online. Ikea is on the same site, along with quite a few other reasonably desirable shops. Hence the car park ( which is huge) is often very full. It took me about 35 minutes to get there but I was very lucky and got a space straight away. Had a look around Ikea and TK Maxx as well as the furniture shop but didn’t buy anything. I like the dining table but it has a stone top so is too heavy for me to move on my own. Trying to decide whether I mind about that! Called in at b and q on the way back to buy chicken wire to try to stop the squirrels digging up all my tulip bulbs! Did some bulk cooking when I got home. I had a couple of chicken portions and some bacon in the freezer which need using so I made a kind of fricasse thing with herbs, onions and mushrooms. It’s made a lot of food so I expect i’ll end up freezing some of it!
Didn’t feel like doing anything for New Year so decided to treat as a normal evening. Was in bed by about 10.30 and didn't wake up until morning!
