Farewell 2024

We were on a mission to finish this as we needed the table for the gang and K and P for New Years Day meal.

S went into town first thing for some M and S stuff that we like and a coffee in Nero and then he was at the dentist for extensive work including an extraction in Preparation for an implant . It’s a tooth near the front so didn’t want another space as the same tooth on the other side is out and has a space. He came back with an antibiotic course, painkillers, mouthwash and soft toothbrush and instructions.

He was back and had to put ice on his face where the work was done.

I made macaroni cheese, cauliflower cheese and a pot of mince. Toe still sore when bending it. Fine standing still. I sat and watched some Netflix programmes . Weather was awful so bad the hogmany celebrations outdoors was cancelled in Edinburgh.

In past years (when younger) I’d be the party person hooching and generally having fun for hours and hours on Hogmany. Now I’m a boring old fart ! How times change.

We sat on the sofa and decided we’d watch a film. Couldn’t decide on what one and came across 1917. Harrowing. But very well made show the absolute horrors of pointless wars. Given a have family connections with my grandfather and great uncle fighting in WW1 it really gave me a small insight of the life of the troops in the trenches.
