Handle With Care . . . The Traveling Wilburys

I have seen Monarch Butterflies sailing through the garden and with the help of TLD's younger eyes I brought a stem inside with eggs attached to leaves. This morning I could see where this one had hatched and had eaten it's way along the leaf.  The process of raising caterpillars until they make a chrysalis and then emerge as butterflies has begun.
Last night I enjoyed the whiskey and retired at 10.30 pm.  I did however see in the New Year thanks to our neighbours, the ones with Santa on the roof and the free range children. At a minute to midnight there was the most horrendous boom, boom, boom, boom, boom and flashes of light. I was bolt upright and scrambling to get my glasses on. At the window I could here them counting down to midnight. It gave me a hell of a fright. On the plus side I stood and looked at the other fireworks let off around the neighbourhood. It is illegal but five red distress flares were sent into the sky down by the estuary and they looked great. When my blood pressure lowed I went back to sleep. Quite a start to 2025.
