This on Copacabana beach at the change of the year.  To be honest, the build of smoke from the fireworks themselves without a wind to clear it away, obscured the brilliance quite a bit and  resulted in this being the poorest firework display we have seen here over many, many years! 

Still wonderful to see folk celebrate the arrival of a hopefully better year!

And in case we get blazé about the benefits of blip, here is my blip of 1st January 2016, when Blip’s future was in jeopardy!  Don’t take what we have for granted!
