Day 3

Today was more challenging to begin, to actually get myself started.  Didn't feel the desire to paint with the fluid acrylics or the ink sticks, did some journalling and felt a small spark, a nudge....when i wrote down 'could work with oil sticks'.   At the moment my studio is in total disarray, needs organizing and i just don't have the energy for any of that, plus i need to start a wood stove if i want to work in there.  So, the set up in my office/studio, in the house is the best place for me to work, but it has it's limits.  The oil sticks are so portable, and i don't need all the different tubes of paint....got myself set up and altho still feeling very low in 'creativity' i spent about 1 1/2 hours noodling away.   As soon as i started feeling the glide of the oil stick onto the paper i knew this was what i was missing.  I absolutely love the butteriness of oil paint, either tube or stick form, the colours are so dense, beautiful and strong.  I felt very content to just scribble away and mush the oil paint around :)

And so it is the last day of 2024.....i want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year when it arrives in your part of the world.
