The last day of 2024
Have I mentioned that we are getting involved with a greenhouse project ? I think I mentioned it in the context of a project involving the growing and then re establishing of sphagnum on the West Pennine moors. We joined a small group of the volunteers, those who were prepared to brave the wild weather , and walked up our nearby hill to the Wainwright stone. Back at the greenhouse we met some of the other volunteers and chatted over a cup of tea and cake. I had made flapjack last night which I took along . It was a grand way to get to know people .
We are now sitting by a blazing fire listening to rain lashing and wind roaring intermittently. From the comfort of our fleece lined chairs c we have just booked a couple of nights away in the van towards the end of Feb and are discussing a possible trip to the Orkneys at the end of April. It’s on our list of places we would like to visit. For now though, I am pleased to be warm and dry at home .
Happy New Year wishes to all you lovely fellow blippers , I have enjoyed and appreciated your company through 2024 xx
