New Year's Eve

Posting early, because today could use extras and I have a few left.  

Wild wet expedition to Broughton Market first thing;  the heavy showers had breaks in them so we went out in the afternoon. The Botanics were closed, so we walked around the garden on the streets, passing by PowderHall Bronze  - who have nice ribbons on their apples and the hippo table. Hippo table Sculptor Mark Stoddart

Back by the Rocheid path; the Water of Leith is running very full, about 30cm from the edge of the path. 

Updating early on Wednesday morning;  our neighbours came upstairs as planned and we talked about American politics, as is inevitable .. we also shared a Breton butter tart (Kouign Amann) which they'd fetched back from Brittany along with the fizz.
