Daffodil Shoots
A morning of removing all of the Christmas decorations. We put ours up early and as has been a family tradition for many years, the Christmas decorations are removed and they go out with the old year, before the New Year arrives. Floors vacuumed and mopped as necessary and then a restful afternoon, knitting, cross-stitching or reading my book; maybe all three.
A final Christmas card arrived today, from my pen friend in America; I have been corresponding with her for fifty-eight years.
Today’s picture is some daffodil shoots. I wanted snowdrop shoots, but something has dug some of them up and made a mess, so they have been added as an extra. All of the other clumps of snowdrops are barely showing through the ground.
The temperature at noon today, nine degrees Celsius; there was some early morning sun, which quickly changed to become an overcast sky.
Happy New Year.
