An ordinary life....

Christmas continued...

I am happy to report that Lola was back to her usual bouncy self this morning.  Of course she will learn absolutely nothing from this incident.

Whilst Lola was better, I woke up feeling a bit yucky.  Nauseous and just feeling a bit off.  Wasn't sure I'd be able to go to Ele and Kenny's for dinner but got showered and dressed and forced myself out.

Stopped at our friend Carole's on the way to Ele's to hand in her Christmas and birthday pressies.  She won't take any money for grooming Lola so we make sure we spoil her a little at Christmas.

Got to Ele's just after 3pm.  Andrew, Nikki, Esme and they beautiful greyhound Bonnie were already there.  Bonnie really is the sweetest dog.  So gentle and actually goes and lies down when told (are you listening Lola?! )

We had a lovely afternoon and evening and I am glad I made the effort to go, even though I was flagging by 9pm.  David and Esme had great fun in the hall playing with her Hot Wheels.  Reminded us of how he spent a whole holiday in the hall of a cottage in the Lake District playing with cars with her dad, who was only two at the time.  Seems like yesterday.  How time flies.

Nikki has had a terrible pregnancy and can't wait for the wee one to arrive (due 28th January) She and Andrew love the blanket and bonnet.  We had a lovely time exchanging gifts and Ele made a fab dinner.

A really lovely day, then on the way home I received the tragic news that one of Alan's pals from his early years, Jade, had passed away.  A big shock as she'd gone to bed smiling and when her mum went to wake her next morning, she was gone.  She was just the sweetest little girl, always smiling.  I never once heard her complain or ever saw her frown, her face always beaming with joy.  And that carried on into adulthood.

My heart absolutely breaks for her family who gave her such a wonderful life.  She was the absolute centre of her parents and her siblings existence. So, so sad.
