I love watching the birds and the deer that come to my yard.

The little woodpecker was a joy to watch on the oak tree.   That brown thrasher was hunting some bugs or something and actually was picking up leaves and moving them.   Who doesn't like the bright red cardinal!

We have many deer.   They don't all come together but seem to be banding as the youngsters-I think there are 8 little ones and 4 does.  I saw two bucks today.   They  have not been around lately but as food is getting harder to find they will be coming to eat some corn.    The little one in the photo has a hurt leg.   I really want to go out there and help it but the littles are really skittish and as soon as I open the door to try to get them used to seeing me, they take off running.   She/he runs but limping badly.    

Trying to make a walking plan for Wednesday as I try to do a first day hike somewhere.   I would love to be in the mountains but don't want to drive that far.

Jerry went to the chiropractor today and then went up to the hunt camp.  I am assuming it helped as he has not called to let me know it did not.  But even if it still  hurts he would go hunting.   No deer meat in the freezer and only 2 more days to hunt.
