A year of writing

It seemed blipworthy to document the fact that today I completed my 2024 challenge - to write a novel! I looked back at my blip from 2/1/24 where I had announced my intention to write every day, the logic in that if I did, I'd have completed a novel length piece of writing by the end if the year.

My aim to write every single day, didn't happen. But I wrote enough words on the other days, that my word count stayed within my target. The goal was 80,000 - I've written 104,900 which I'm happy with. I am parking it now, for a few months. Then I will return to rewrite and edit - losing 1000’s of those words I expect. I make it sound like I know what I'm doing - I don't - I'm making it up as I go on! It's been fun, and during difficult times this year, it has kept me going. It has actually been enjoyable.

I want to thank my keen reader friend Claire who has been reading it for me. 5 or so chapters at a time. I've just sent her the last 10 chapters. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the end is ok - I'm not sure about it.

Now I'm getting out a jigsaw….
