Bigger and Closer (not smaller & further away)

We went to Manchester on the train today to see the David Hockney experience with huge state-of-the-art projections.  Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away) invites you to experience the world through David Hockney’s eyes.  After opening at Lightroom in London to excellent reviews, this is the first time the show has travelled outside of the capital. We were given an insight into the artist’s process as we travelled through six different chapters of his work, seeing the room around us light up and change.

The experience covered his work from LA to Yorkshire, and up to the present day in Normandy.  
Narrated by him we saw how we experiments with perspective, uses photography as a way of ‘drawing with a camera’, captures the passing of time in his polaroid collages and the joy of Spring on his iPad.


A very enjoyable time and I would recommend it if you are in the vicinity.
