‘Once Upon a River’

To Sainsbury’s in the morning, which was an obstacle course of families with young children who were zooming around at top speed, in danger of going under the wheels of trollies. I was glad to get out of there after half an hour of that!

The rest of the day has been much calmer, as I have started reading the rather doorstop-thick novel which we’ll be discussing in a week’s time for the Tiptree Page Turners’ book club meeting - ‘Once Upon a River’ by Diane Setterfield. It begins at Radcot, some way downriver from the source of the Thames, an area I have visited many years ago. So far I’m really enjoying the book - it’s an intriguing and flowing (pardon the pun) read. I just hope there’s enough time left to finish it!
