Bang, Bang, Bang
I went to the supermarket today, and took the car (we had fog and drizzle, falling on frozen ground, so walking was more perilous than driving).
It was very busy, because the yearly free-for-all is in full swing: Supermarkets and other shops are selling fireworks for Silvester (New Year's Eve). It's traditional to fire them just after midnight on New Year, but many people love to 'surprise' their neighbours and scare the animals by firing bangers and rockets for days before and after the main event.
It's a big business, with over 200 million Euros being spent in just three days. Imagine how much help that money would be for charities.
