By appointment to Santa

At lunchtime, we walked into Ryde for a bit of shopping in the hope of finding some Christmassy things. We wanted some tags and present bags. Neither of us had brought our Christmas jumpers, and tomorrow, we are off to The Crazy Coqs’ Christmas show, so we wanted something to wear. I ended up with Christmas trees, spectacles, and a headband with bouncing trees. I think that might work.

We lunched on the festive special toast at The Wonky Goat and then went to the Christmas Imaginarium, where we looked at all the decorations. I returned with a new 2024 Isle of Wight decoration for the tree, PY with some things to give Ruth and John tomorrow. While we were there, some people bought a lovely powered snow globe, but it was over £100, and I thought better of getting one for myself.

Later, I thought we could take a walk down the beach towards the Dell Café. I knew it would be closed, but I thought it would be a nice circular route. However, as we set off, the wind got up, and there was a bit of rain. Once PY realised there was no hot drink – or even a cold wine – at the end of the walk, he wasn’t so keen. I think we made the right decision to return to the flat before the weather got bad.
