Exploring the Mist

A few days ago, today was forecast to be sunny and a friend and I planned a longish ride to the South Coast.

Today was cold and murky but with a car parked at the finish, we were committed. Well, we didn't get the best of the views as the route descended the Test Valley and crossed the New Forest but it was still great to be out.

During the journey we saw loads of people: over a hundred protesting farmers in tractors, spectators, a few dozen cyclists, dozens of families out walking and tea rooms bulging with customers.

The kayaks belonged to one of several groups of paddlers who had been across to the Isle of Wight and back. The dark shape on the horizon is the island itself.

The stats say I need to recover for 26 hours, so the computer  will have my company tomorrow.
