The Law
It's Sunday, just after 11am and the King is in church - which is out of shot behind the trees to the right of the war memorial. Crowds of well-wishers congregate to see him arrive and of course there has to be a police presence to ensure the safety of the monarch and guide people to suitable areas to view the arrival of the royal party.
In good weather they normally walk over from Sandringham House which is beyond the wall and trees to the left of the picture. The occasion has always been cheerful and good natured in my experience without any need for peace-keeping.
The murky mistiness of the last few days has gone and the sun put in an appearance at last.
