New Year plant hunt

The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland holds this challenge every year.

The idea is to see how many native and naturalised wild plants you can find IN FLOWER between one minute past midnight on 29th. December and midnight on New Year’s Day.

Thousands of Membes take part and send their findings to head office using a special App.
It is surprising how many can be found especially in milder areas such as the Isle of Wight.

My Blip shows one found by Mrs, K. on our walk this morning. It is Winter Heliotrope ( Petasites fragrans ).
