Purple Loosestrife

Against a backdrop of changing skies blue and sunny one minute, black and threatening the next. Masses of it in all the hedgerows along with the accompanying perma buzz of bees. It's origins are thought to be mid 16th Century. From Loose and Strife it is named after its' discoverer the Greek Lusimakhos meaning undo and battle. A very pretty plant.
