The Spiegel Theatre

We went to a show this afternoon that should have taken place three weeks ago, but was cancelled due to Storm Darragh. It was a Christmas show featuring Aled Jones, who sang Christmas songs, Classical favourites, and also narrated The Snowman, with a wonderful string quartet and pianist accompanying him. It was a wonderful show, made even better by being staged in the beautiful Spielgeltent. This one, The Fortuna, is one of the biggest, built from wood, canvas, leaded glass, mirrors everywhere, coloured glass and lots of velvet. It really is a beautiful theatre. We will definitely go again if it's here again next year.
