Female Goosander

A much needed walk round the Heritage Park this morning before having to wait at home for a delivery.

Not a goose to be seen and the swan family are reduced to two as their youngster seems to have flown away to pastures new (no doubt encouraged by dad). Plenty of gulls, mallards and a few coots and a couple of Little Grebes.

Walking round the far end of the loch I spotted a lone female Goosander in the wee nature reserve. There is really only one spot beside the fence where there is a clear view of the water and that's just where the lone Goosander was paddling about.
