Gothic!

This is a bit different for me, I had some business in Killinchy, another small village not far from mine, so I decided to visit Whiterock nearby while in that direction.  I had in my mind "gothic and black and white".  So I did have a sort of vision of what I wanted to create.

My image today is intended for discussion - hint!   I do not consider myself to be that creative and definitely not an artist.  My happy place is documentary or street photography.  I deliberately sought to create a gothic feel or mood.  I know lighting can play a big part in this, but I had to work with the light I got.

The main image is looking up into the ruins of Sketrick Castle, crows were roosting in holes in wall where floor joists were once fixed.  I did try to encourage them to fly by shouting at them and they complied quite nicely.  Having said all this  - has the desired mood been created??

The extra photo is looking through a doorway, this is blocked off with a fixed gate, looking up the steps.  I don't think it works as well, but you might think differently.
