Thank You For The Music
We had friends round for lunch today ..
Our old friends R&J from Wolverhampton.
They used to come to ours on a Saturday night and we would play music till late into the night on my faithful Technics/JVC stereo system.
Sharing similar tastes in music and booze we had some wonderful times.
Then children happened. And life happened. And we lost touch for a long while.
Then when we moved to Shropshire I reached out. R worked at that time in Ludlow and I asked him if they would like to meet up and we did. We are now back in regular touch, both our families are grown up and we have picked up more or less where we left off thirty years ago
R is a music fanatic and has good knowledge of music systems, and today he helped me set up my stereo music centre which has been in bits for two years.
We played a vinyl album, a CD and a cassette tape.
Just like old times, and it was grand to meet up, and catch-up , and eat homemade fish and chips provided by the inestimable Mrs I.
Followed by, wait for it,.....'Lemon Meringue and White Chocolate' sponge pudding and cream.
I am in a state of bliss, and my vinyl collection, and my even bigger CD collection, and cassettes, are all raring to go
The best Christmas present I have had since my dad bought me a Timex watch at the age of ten. .
