Fungus Hatching

In the crack of an old willow, close by the source of Routenbeck, these glossy fungi were busy hatching. I saw them as a patch of glorious orange colour as I paddled up the bog to have a look at the mosses on some co-habiting alders. According to iNaturalist they are probably Smoky-gilled Hypholoma. However, as I thought they fitted so perfectly snugly in their home I didn't want to break their tops just to see if the gills were smoky grey or otherwise.
