technology and tenderness

This is a response to other blips - Kendall's 'humanity and dearness', which in turn quoted a comment by someone else and referred to WhiskyFoxtrots wonderful blip of two ladies taking tea at Ullapool.

At the time I was viewing these on my tablet, using the free wifi in a local coffee shop. Two ladies at the same table were having an animated conversation about grandchildren and ruby weddings. I was having an email conversation with Sarahin Japan and a Skype conversation with my Mum on Skype. A veritable feast of humanity and dearness, indeed.

My Mum couldn't get her microphone to work. So we had only sign language from her end. Sometimes technology isn't all that tender :-)
