Vitoria -Gasteiz

Another enjoyable and enlightening day out, this time to the capital city of the Basque Country. 

It was hugely foggy as we drove to Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the third Basque province.

 It’s a beautiful city, spotlessly clean, lots of green spaces, and with an exciting mixture of architectural styles spanning many centuries.

Unlike the cities that have been razed to the ground like San Sebastián, Vitoria has wonderfully preserved buildings, dating back to Medieval times.

An excellent guide brought it to life, and gave us much food for thought.

My blip is of a particularly stunning series of houses near to the Old Cathedral.

Well worth a visit.
