Bright morning

Here’s the view from Portobello Promenade this morning on my way to do a shift at the Cancer Research shop. 

It’s amazing that two days after Christmas Day people are already dropping off unwanted presents. One of the first, was this chap who dropped off a brand new Barbour gentleman’s scarf and hat combo in a gift box. After some online investigation, it turns out it costs over £100 … 

Anyway, a few more presents (of lesser values) were offloaded too. I suppose if people aren’t going to use them, they are doing a good thing by giving them to charity rather than it sitting in the back wardrobes.

Anyway, after an exciting morning, came back and had some of Farida’s homemade (and wonderful) vegetable soup and Martin and I ate enjoying reading sone of our Christmas books. Martin’s reading ‘The Hammer Story’ while I am reading Kelly  Bishop’s autobiography (from the Gilmore Girls and who has had a most interesting life and career).

More turkey leftovers for tea tonight for me, while Martin is having fish, as he points out blank is refusing to eat any more turkey!
