New squadron member
I picked out 19 snails from the guinea pig eglu today. Most were new members of the squadron and they were quickly adorned with the turquoise nail varnish that signals that they were seen in 2009. One snail was already a member of the squadron, having four colours of nail varnish already on its shell, one for each year of being seen. I'm sure it didn't mind having a fifth colour.
A day of running in and out of the garden hanging and taking in washing (intermittent rain showers), and working on the laptop with a side cat.
In the evening, I headed off for yet another leaving do - four more ex-colleagues having been made redundant. There were many familiar faces from years gone by and it was a great crowd. It's really sad to see my old workplace being carved up in this recent restructuring. Perhaps there's a plan somewhere... I only hope my friends still there aren't worked to exhaustion because so many have left. I have my fingers crossed that it works out well for everyone.
I should also mention that there was a good amount of quality dancing going on last night, and top points go to Si for the breakdance and attempted limbo even with sprained ankle.
