Fungus Weather

It has been dark, damp and dreich today...perfect excuse to do practically nothing today. We slept a little later than usual and decided to bust open the tiramisu flavored panettone I bought the other day. It was another impulse buy.  Since I found myself standing next to the panettone shelf for quite awhile in the grocery store earlier in the week, I noticed that this was a 'flavor' I've never heard of. Jim was making waffles yesterday morning when we arrived at their house so the panettone came home with me again, unopened. This morning it seemed the perfect way to begin the day, and we both liked it a lot....

Our one foray into the weather, a cross between mist and rain with low clouds and low visibility, was a walk down to the bridge to look at the creek. The log jam is growing and has reached the top of the bank on one side. That side of the creek is beginning to back up in front of it, but the other side is flowing well.

This fungus is growing on a tree with its feet in the creek next to the bridge. Siri tells me it is an oyster mushroom but I don't believe her. Whatever it is, i'm sure some Blipper will know, it looks quite pristine and pretty.

The rain is supposed to continue through tomorrow morning, but Spike has an appointment at the beauty parlor at 8:30. We'll drop him off and have our usual coffee at Trail House while he is getting a haircut and pedicure.
