The town was very quiet this morning.  Not so many shops open as some had taken the extra day off and given their staff an extra day break which I think is a good thing.

Posted this earlier without time to write anything.  The reason was that I got a call to say my brother in law was not responding to the phone or to the front door when his sister called.  We knew he was definitely at home  but no response.   I was about to drive over (with a spare key) when I got another call to say he was okay.  Had the television on loud and didn't hear the doorbell, the phone, or the shouting.  Maybe he will at last agree he has a hearing problem!  But still a big relief.
