Villars-sur-Ollon Sea of Fog Panorama
This morning, grandson Jacel and I (extra) set off in the dark to be first in the ski shop to rent skis for him! We were some of the first skiers on the perfectly groomed pistes but we had to stop to admire the sea of fog (more in extra) several times especially knowing that the rest of the family were snoozing at home, underneath that! Jacel hadn’t skied for at least 6 years. As a semi-professional footballer his previous club did not allow the team members to ski! He really enjoyed himself and so did I. Amazing that our « little grandson » drove me to the télécabine and then skied and chatted to me and Josiane so easily. We don’t see much of him because of his football commitments at the weekends so it was great to share the day with him as an adult now. By the time we returned home, the rest of the family had cleared up and were ready to go home. We have had a lovely Christmas together, we are so lucky to be really close to the Swiss family. The American family we see in intensive weeks when we/they can. I hope you have also had a wonderful Christmas too.
Huge thanks for all the birthday and Christmas gifts left on my journal, sorry I haven’t been able to respond and tonight I’m falling asleep. Tomorrow we have friends coming to stay too so I am on washing duty this evening!
