A 10 Day

I was not expecting a 10 out 10 day today but that is what I had.  I suggested to Mr YB that we drive to Derwent Reservoir.  Beautiful countryside on the way there and the reservoir was so calm, the sun was shining and it felt so good to be out after being stuck in recently with a virus.

We took a flask of tea but the picnic seats were all wet so we just stood up and had our cuppa and shared a banana looking at the reservoir.

Quite a lot of fishermen about.  My favourite Christmas programme so far has been Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse.  I have no real interest in fishing but I just adore the scenery, the music and Paul and Bob sitting like old friends just talking rubbish to each other.  An added bonus was that they played two of my very favourite songs - The River by Joni Mitchell and Run For Home by Lindisfarne - happy memories of attending Lindisfarne's Christmas Shows at Newcastle City Hall in the 1970's and early 80's.  Things changed - Alan Hull sadly died and Ray Jackson left.   The last time I saw them was 2013 when Ray Jackson came back for a one off show.  Loved his and Alan's harmonies.  They were such a good group.

My favourite tea tonight - I love Boxing Day Tea - leftover turkey and trimmings and chips.

I hope that you had a nice day today.
