Christmas Day
I managed to arise before anyone else before sunrise and enjoy some peace & quiet for an hour after letting Nova out to do whatever Cattos do on a festive morning & feeding Shadow, who emptied her bowl promptly before returning to her bed for a lie in!
The sound of my phone ringing (a "Good Morning!" and "Merry Christmas!" from Mum) was enough to stir the family into making their way downstairs to open their prezzies and even tidy up the mess afterwards (which was nice!) We all hung out on the settees for a while because Shadow had the right idea earlier, and once recharged decamped to the kitchen to make a breakfast for youngest & I to enjoy for brunch.
Post-Cheffing I managed to share brunch in a virtual fashion with bestie over a video-natter, wishing her a Merry Christmas prior to her popping out for her Christmas Dinner with family. She was to stroll there and a walk is what we traditionally do here on Christmas morning although only youngest had the beans this morning.
We popped Shadows waxed doggo jacket on and took went for a walk through our local park, past the bandstand to say hello to the Redwoods. The middle of the three giants was looking as festive as possible in the absence of snow with a holly sprouting from the base of its trunk. What was really nice was seeing a blue sky for the first time in what seems like an age *^_^*
En route home we called in on a family friend for an hour and a natter before going home to get ready and wander over to my parents house with Auntie H. Instead of a traditional dinner (which we are having on Boxing Day) we all had an Indian takeaway and it was very very Nom!
