The feast of St Stephen…

… which is more commonly called Boxing Day.
St Stephen was the first Christian martyr or Protomartyr who died in 34 AD in Jerusalem at the age of 29 and was buried at The Basilica Papale di San Lorenzo fuori le mura which is a Roman Catholic papal minor basilica and parish church, located outside the walls of Rome, Italy.
He is the patron saint of bricklayers and stonemasons but more importantly is considered to be the patron of acolytes and altar servers.

All of which has led me away from my blip. When I was getting up I glanced at Facebook and saw that Becky who owns the shop next door will be cooking bacon rolls that will be ready at 10 o’clock. Perfect! That sounds just right for a Boxing Day brunch!

A little while later and I’ve now had my bacon roll which was even better than anticipated. I’m trying to stop myself being greedy and going back for another one. I’ll tell myself I’m being generous by making sure there are enough for everyone. And if you believe that there really is no hope for you.

Now my final Christmas treat is a bottle of Baileys. I was well fueled up with wine yesterday so the Baileys is still intact. I don’t know why but to me Baileys is an afternoon drink but I’m going out shortly and don’t want to gulp it down so evening it must be.
Talking of gulping it down I remember when Tommy Walsh was intent on losing weight; he admitted that he used to drink Baileys from a pint mug and gulp it down. So he cut that out. That and other steps he took certainly worked because when I see him on the odd occasion I watch ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ he is but a shadow of his former self.
I won’t have a pint of Baileys but possibly half a pint? Surely not!
