Whoosh!

Busy, fun day. Lovely to see how pleased and excited AR & Mx were with their various stocking presents of art things and Lego etc, then the surprise of Mt&H’s stocking which ended up in one shared bag and made fun for them all deciding which present was for who.
After a while we headed to the beach with hot dogs in a flask and hot chocolate for AR to try out her new wetsuit. Mx wasn’t quite up to that but did enjoy a run about in his new football kit plus coat and big scarf. We were lucky with the weather…very mild and quite sunny although windy…..H always feels the cold so was grateful for her new warm coat!
Home and had Buck’s Fizz and smoked salmon and opened more presents then Mt and I got stuck into the cooking….didnt take too long in the end (although I totally forgot the starter till we serving up the main course!). Mx had faded by then and spent most of the afternoon either reading his book in bed or asleep on the sofa. Lots of texting back and forth with A and T, checking in on their day and comparing photos of our dinners and, in T’s case, beach expeditions….
In the evening we watched Wallace and Grommit (although both Mt and I fell asleep!).
A bit later we had a a chocolate log with a cup of tea, played with some of their new games and had some more calls with absent friends.
Lovely day, with no meltdowns thank goodness and a lot of fun and food!
