Singapore - Day 2

Monday 23/12

The ship’s in Singapore until late afternoon, so we set off on today’s excursion- back to Gardens by the Bay. This time we explore both the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest  Dome. Both are beautifully constructed and a real pleasure to explore. The Cloud Forest dome houses one of the world’s highest waterfalls and provides some excellent environmental education, and there’s an exhibition focusing on the work of Monet and the impressionists as part of the Flower Dome which is quite beautiful.

Then it’s on to Marina Bay Sands and the obligatory visit to the Observation Deck on the 57th floor. Of course, the views of the city are stunning - though we  enjoy the structure of the building/s just as much. 

It’s a short excursion compared to yesterday’s, and we’re back on ship in time for a light lunch in the poolside grill - our usual ‘fish of the day’ with a small salad. 

And now we can relax. The past couple of days have been excellent, but I’m really ready for a couple of recovery days at sea!
