Grey Heron

Merry Christmas everyone!

I took MrsD up to the loch in her Wheelchair this morning. She hasn't seen the heron for months and we were not sure how they would react. We needn't have worried. I got her into a good viewing position at the top of the slope and there were 9 heron waiting for me. As I walked towards them they all walked towards me (some were chasing others away). I managed to get them all fed then we went to the clearing to see the noisy male. The young ones were waiting at the clearing ahead of us.they were totally unphased by MrsD being there or indeed the wheelchair. I finished feeding them then we headed home. MrsD loved it and could see why people were amazed at the sight. A magical start to her Christmas day. Today's shot had to be the little female who is now a full adult (she still has a few grey feathers on her head but very few.
