Christmas card walk

Walking the neighbourhood with the dog dropping off Christmas cards I particularly enjoyed the wreath of the graphic designers who live in the barn by the farm. Their house is minimal and so is their wreath, giant but minimal. 

I started the morning turning the Gravadlax, wrapping presents and getting the house ready for Rory’s arrival.  Whilst I finished wrapping I watched The Outrun, the dramatisation of Amy Liptrot’s book which was bleak and beautiful and thoroughly absorbing 

Rory arrived around 5 just as I finished making these chocolate puddinis from Nigella Lawson that have not turned out quite as intended.  We drank Champagne cocktails and then had a delicious dinner of goose from St John via Dishpatch. 

Lovely start to Christmas.
