Christmas Eve
Virtually traffic free roads this morning.
Dippy and I walked around the lanes for a couple of hours investigating fields of sheep and a roadside stable where Dippy introduced himself to a few horses.
We had pleasant conversation with 3 other people the last of which had an eight month old Labrador puppy who invited us to run lead free with Poppy around their paddock.
Poppy was on heat and it didn’t take Dippy long to learn about the facts of life, back on his leash and a safe walk home afte being invited to a local church for midnight mass portly starting at 10 o’clock.
Breakfast, construction of a modern take on a Christmas tree, tidy, off to the optician to collect my new specs and get them fitted, an enjoyable cup of tea and homemade tiffin, a portion of chips for lunch and then a good tromp along the Tarka trail and surrounding area, peppermint tea and a fruit scone with clotted cream in the Puffing Billy before preparing some flowers for Auntie.
I joined a lovely couple for a catch up and fruit juice before they headed off to their evening chapel for a service.
Home for sea bass broccoli and crusty sourdough bread and butter.! Before I could blink it was time to head out to church for the 10 o clock midnight mass.
Enjoyable but for the over enthusiastic organist who drowned out any chance of hearing themselves or anyone else singing.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, safe and enjoyable Christmas time remembering the word adequate.
