Before the storm

After working around the house all day, Bob and I went out for some pizza and a glass of wine. That taken care of, I asked Bob to drive down to Lake Erie, because I didn't yet have a blip for today. Forty years of living in this area, and we had never gone to this park, which is located on a bluff overlooking the lake. Several people were there when we arrived, sitting on benches at the top of the bluff, but I headed for the stairs that led down to the beach, where I saw this man watching the sunset. Looking toward the northeast, I spotted some swimmers, and that scene became my blip for tonight.

The water was pretty rough, and swimming, especially at an unprotected beach, didn't seem like such a good idea. Finally one of the boys left the others in the water, and headed up the hill where Bob had a little talk with him. He admitted he had been caught by the undertow, but his friends wouldn't leave with him.

As soon as we got home, the storm hit. Lightning flashed and thunder crashed, but it didn't last long. Thankfully it is quiet again, but I would feel better if I knew that all three boys reached home safely.
