Mr. Rat!

I shot this tonight out in the backyard. It's a roof vent with a small rat trying to get inside. A few nights ago we heard the chewing sounds ant thought they were in the attic. It seems they are looking for a way in.

I went up on a ladder and scared him off, but later while I was trying to get the pups to do their evening constitutional, I looked over my shoulder and there this guy was, peering over at us from the roof. As soon as we made eye contact, he took off.
