Snowy Christmas Eve

It started snowing around 8 am and it is still snowing. Less than 10 cm accumulation so far. I filled the feeders this morning and they were busy most of the day. Blue jays, goldfinches, chickadees, sparrows, juncos, woodpeckers, both downy and hairy, and the usual starling, morning dove and pigeon crew. One of the squirrels also came up on the deck to check out the feeder, the first time I have seen him here. Two squirrels were chasing each other around in the trees.

I went out this afternoon to scrape the snow off the driveway and found a bucket of salt had been left on my doorstep. The landlord still has not returned from Newfoundland, I guess she decided to stay there for Christmas. She must have had the carpenter drop the salt off for me. I watched some cars driving up the hill when I was doing the driveway. The street had not been plowed. Most cars were doing fine, except for the guy driving a Mustang. He likely did not have any winter tires on the car. His tires were spinning and by the time he got to the top he was barely moving, I thought he would have to get out and push it up the hill. I could smell the rubber burning.

I started another jigsaw puzzle today. Tonight I have a movie on YouTube.

I'm hoping the weather improves tomorrow. It is our first white Christmas since 2013.
