And so today I left Kansas City in the rain, riding through a weather front for 5 hours, until I reached clear sky for another 5 hours, and then finished the ride in a one hour afternoon thunderstorm here in Colorado.

I feel thoroughly cleansed! And a bit victorious in overcoming the elements! Of course being properly equipped makes all the difference - I have a great rain suit and have plenty of experience riding in the rain. And the fact that I was on a good straight road with little traffic helped quite a bit, too.

I am thanking God for a lovely and safe roadtrip and a great visit with a special friend.
