Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another full-on day. Made rather more full-on by telling everybody the wrong time for the Christmas lunch at the fabulous Dome, and it was a bit of a rush at the end. This has been booked since March this year - had to! And it was well worth it. They do the BEST decorations in town, always have.

We were all pleased with our choices - though I was the only one to have the traditional Christmas meal of turkey with all the trimmings. The others had venison.

After lunch, the boys went for a browse round Armstrongs, the famous vintage wear shop. We then took Susan to the Spence, another old bank building that looks fabulous, and they make a big effort with the decs.

Then we got the bus up to Bruntsfield for a recce. Oh look! There are spare tables in Piggs! So we popped in for one last glass of bubbles before heading home.

We picked up Archie and the chaps, who were in their homely Air B&B, and they all came round for a coffee and panettone.

What a great day out!
