Uninvited Guest

This yellow wildflower appeared without invitation in my front garden. I don't know what kind of flower it is even though I checked my wildflower guide. I've had difficulty lately identifying things whether flowers or insects. I page through the guides and cannot find a match. (Except yesterday I identified a Red Milkweed Beetle.)
