Joyful And Triumphant

1923: President Coolidge lights the first national Christmas tree
Quote Of The Day
"Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas."
(Calvin Coolidge)
A quiet day, with K and V out baking a Christmas cake for tomorrow with a professional pastry chef (an annual tradition) and A at university. He'll be going to a party afterwards so he'll be home late. So that gave me the opportunity to buy K a couple of presents and wrap them; something nice that I think she'll like but probably tell me I shouldn't have bought it because she could have bought it somewhere cheaper using vouchers, and something stupid that will make her laugh and say, "Why did you buy this?" It'll be fun.
I finished reading The Last Human in Tully's & Tea while enjoying a stupidly expensive rum and raisin tea; a Christmas treat I promised myself.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
