Taekwondo
I made up for my inertness yesterday, thanks to waking up headache free thank goodness. I had a few things to get food wise but I was wrong thinking the main crush at M&S would have been over the weekend. When at the Fort I saw that M&S was just packed out I turned round and picked up what I needed at Aldi and Sainsbury’s. Once home I tried to find places to unpack and put away the things I’d bought then had a bacon sandwich before settling down to cooking. I made more florentines, a lasagne for tonight, grilled veg for a pie tomorrow, more florentines and some twice baked cheese soufflés ready for Christmas Day. In between the cooking I also cleaned the rest of the flat, lit scented candles and had a few cups of tea and slices of stollen!
Mt, H and the weans (and the cat and dog!) arrived about 5.30pm and we quickly emptied their car and took it to park then unpacked and tried to get everyone settled in. Poor Mx isn’t very well…he’s had a temperature for a couple of days and a bad cough and was sick in the car (luckily caught and disposed of since it happened early in the journey). He lay on the sofa whilst AR, full of beans, showed me some of her Taekwondo moves, drew cartoons and unpacked her things to make herself at home in her room.
Mx went to bed fairly early after just having some plain pasta for supper, and AR started reading the Christmas book I’d bought her and we ate our lasagne, chatting about all sorts. G&N phoned to see that they’d arrived ok and we talked about their plans over the next couple of days.
We watched the Hairy Bikers tribute programme and then one about the making of the Detectorists before bed….so nice to feel things are finally starting after all the planning!
