MY GOOSE
I had quite a busy Monday. First of all I walked to the health centre. I had an appointment with a nurse for blood tests. They were requested by my osteoporosis consultant. I was in and out quite quickly.
Next I called in to my building society and got some financial business sorted. It was busy in there and I had a bit of a wait.
Next I went to Herons and Tesco for food shopping. Neither was busy. I was glad I didn't need to go to the butchers. There was a huge queue right up the street.
Came home and dumped my shopping and went out again to the post office in the small Morrisons. I had a parcel to post. I had bought the postage online and printed out the postage label and customs label and I would have handed it in at the post office in the village ... but that one wasn't on the online list.. so I had to make a separate journey to the Morrisons one. Luckily there was no queue.
Back home to have a cup of coffee and relax. I was just thinking I could have a nice quiet Christmas Eve at home as I didn't need any more shopping when the phone rang at around 4.30pm. It was one of the doctors at the Health Centre. He said my blood test showed a high level of potassium. I could either go to A and E at the hospital today or come back to the health Centre tomorrow for another blood test. As he didn't insist on me going to A & E I decided to get another blood test tomorrow. Meanwhile I have to lay off chocolate, bananas and tomatoes as they are all high in potassium. So that phone call was a bit of a bombshell. Hopefully the potassium level will be lower when I go back tomorrow. If not..... who knows? Better try not to worry until I have to.
There was a ring on my doorbell around 5.30pm - it was the two little girls from across the road bringing me a lovely bunch of flowers and a tin of shortbread biscuits. So sweet. I chatted to them about what they wanted for Christmas. Squishmallows seem to be top of their lists.
My sister in law messaged to say she was going to pop round this evening to bring my Christmas presents. So I had a quick tidy up. She came around 6.30pm. We had a nice catch up and exchanged presents.
Becky messaged to ask if the flowers she had sent had been delivered. They hadn't. So I checked the garage. Nothing there. Nothing in the blue bin. But I did find two parcels in the garden bin. One was Beckys flowers and inside the other very large box was what you can see in my blip.
This Goose is the latest addition to my collection of Annalee dolls. When I saw it on Ebay I was in such a rush to bid that I didn't check what size it was. I won the auction and still didn't check. So I was rather surprised when I opened the box to find that Mrs Goose is 18 inches tall. Most of my other Annalee dolls are much smaller.
Ive tagged her for Mono Monday - the theme is Emotion - a portrait. This is the best I could come up with. I guess my lovely goose is quite happy as shes not going to be anyone's Christmas dinner. She's very contented here with the rest of the Annalee Christmas dolls enjoying the festive period safe and sound. Thanks to McCaviti for hosting.
( Ive added an Extra of Mrs Goose in full colour - she looks much nicer )
Late blip as I fell asleep in the chair this evening and didn't wake up till 11.30pm.
